ABOUT US:

St. Martin’s Women’s Club is one of the outstanding women’s clubs in the diocese of San Diego with an active membership of about 40 participants. Its goals are to serve God, the parish and the community; providing fellowship with social contacts, informational speakers, spiritual renewal and fundraisers for worthy causes and church/hall improvements. All women of the parish are welcome.

Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month:
Rosary (10:30) in parish hall
Meeting (11:00) in Barry Hall
Luncheon (12:00) in Barry Hall

MONTHLY MEETINGS:
The club meets on the first Thursday of each month excluding July and August. The general meeting is at 11:00 a.m. preceded by recitation of the Rosary in Parish Hall at 10:30 a.m. There are four yearly potlucks: February, May, September and December. Luncheon hostesses can volunteer to sign up to be a Lunch Hostess or a Potluck Hostess. Speakers and entertainment are often engaged for the monthly meetings..

SPIRITUAL ACTIVITIES:
On the fourth Sunday of the month, the members attend as a group the 11:00 a.m. Mass. Two members take up the Eucharistic gifts. Many of our members are Eucharistic Ministers. Members can help serve at funeral receptions for Women’s Club members and their families…..

PARISH SERVICE:
Service activities include assistance with church, flowers and sacristan responsibilities. Club members play an important part in the upkeep of the altar with volunteers cleaning and helping those who decorate the altar, care for the plants, change the Holy Water, and care for the altar cloths.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:
Through fundraising, the Women’s Club members help with the Parish. Yearly donations are made to various groups: Parish Food Bank, Fr. Sproul Fund (tuition assistance), CCD, Noah Homes, and Church/Hall improvements.

ACTIVITIES:
During the year, there are bus trips to local areas and Laughlin, Nevada. There is a bake sale in the spring and a white elephant sale in the fall. A luncheon/card party, including a silent auction, a raffle and a book sale, also occur in the fall.
